Jonathan painted this at the Landscape Artist of the Year competition 2016, in the Lake District of England.. When we arrived on the day of the shoot at 7.00 AM, it was a little drizzly. However as prepararions for the day's painting progressed, the weather started to clear and by lunchtime the day was glorious. As a result the top half of the painting looks quite moody and the bottom brighter. The lake District unfolded in all its glory and the day became more and more of a joy.
